'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith renews battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he recalls the thrilling final moments of Swansea's stunning fightback victory against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The game wrapped up with Galbraith briefly donning a supporter's spectacles following the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a speculative strike from distance, and the defender promptly hammered in the deflection before racing off toward the crowd to mark the goal, with supporters swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

The result capped an extraordinary turnaround given Swansea had been behind 2-0 midway through the latter period. In the delirium, there was some collateral damage. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and Josh Key and I were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're humans, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The result earned a upcoming fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a club Galbraith ran close at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in stunning style, with a teammate's long-range effort from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the opposition keeper. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for having a go from that far out," commented Galbraith, who started in midfield before switching to right flank after the team changed shape. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way Orient played positively.

City's Quality

"Physically they are exceptional but even the fundamentals and simple things, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they are adept at manage and take the sting out of a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It takes a resilient mindset and focus just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to sign him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He made a name as a fans' favourite across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has rapidly done the same in Wales. At the London club he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at his loan club from Old Trafford. Then came a temporary move at lower division Salford, before he departed Old Trafford.

Development Path

"I was likely a slightly green going into senior level. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it seems play is circulated without serious challenge. You see few physical contests. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adapt rapidly."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that growth for both domestically and internationally, shining for Northern Ireland, who are fighting to qualify for the international competition next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the recent fixtures, including home and away fixtures against the German national team. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a game-changing assist.

Humble Beginnings

It has been a remarkable path for the youngster from the Queens Park estate in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who used to see his father, Stuart, also a central player, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

The player's sole appearance for the Red Devils came in the away trip in 2019, a European competition trip to the host city, where they competed on an synthetic surface and the arena covering was closed owing to the weather of -15C. "It was a lengthy journey and it was freezing," he comments, grinning. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to travel with the first team and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to depart Manchester United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged 16? "This turned out quite easy, because I got to the stage where I knew I wouldn't break through at first-team level. I'm hugely grateful for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I felt I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play first-team games. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

New Environment

This occurs during mid-afternoon at the club's training ground but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a frequent passenger in Swansea's nicknamed player transport, a minibus driven by club employees, Pete and Howard, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include the Portuguese player, Ronald, the midfielder – Melker Widell used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's nice to interact with the lads but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual to stop using the bus and on the road. Franco is known for his humor; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on public transport after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
